  1. The IMF sees 3.1% global growth in 2026. The October WEO projects 1.1% euro-area growth, a direct external framework for Hungarian exports, energy imports and the forint.

  2. OTP lifted the BUX as Wall Street closed mixed. The BUX rose 0.90% while the S&P 500 fell 0.06%; US bank results and energy prices move into focus on Tuesday.

  3. Hungarian hauliers get HUF 25 per litre relief. Diesel relief for trucks above 7.5 tonnes and buses was announced through end-2026, but the actual start requires legislation and a NAV procedure.

  4. EU panel examines AI loss-of-control incidents. The AI Office received reports and requested information; system names and investigation findings have not yet been published.

  5. EU sanctions nearly 1,600 Russian actors. The Council listed 1,569 military-industrial actors and 77 more people while conditionally supporting an energy-infrastructure truce.
