EU foreign ministers discuss escalating hybrid threats

The Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg addresses Russia's war against Ukraine, hybrid operations targeting the EU and the Middle East on 12 October.

The Council of the EU's official agenda says foreign ministers meeting in Luxembourg on 12 October will discuss Russia's war against Ukraine and an escalating hybrid campaign targeting the EU and its member states. Kaja Kallas chairs the meeting after a planned informal exchange with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.

As an EU member, Hungary is directly affected by common foreign-policy, sanctions, security and support decisions. The agenda is not yet a newly adopted measure: ministers are due to exchange views on the EU response, support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia. They will also address the Middle East, the security impact of enlargement and Georgia.

Our coverage of the UNCTAD global outlook provides the external economic background, while the EU tariff relief for Armenia relates to the Union's external partnerships. The next verifiable point is the press conference indicated for about 16:45 and any conclusions actually adopted.
