In one minute

The August PCE report showed a 0.3 percent monthly price increase; the index excluding food and energy rose 0.2 percent. From a year earlier, the headline index was up 3.4 percent and the core index 3.0 percent.

Why it matters to Hungarian investors

Personal consumption increased 0.9 percent in current dollars and 0.6 percent in real terms. Together, growth and inflation data can influence interest-rate expectations, the US dollar and therefore the forint value of dollar assets. USD/HUF calculated from the ECB reference rates for September 29 was 322.66; this is a daily reference, not a live market quote.
