At the regular 5 October close on the Budapest Stock Exchange, the BUX rose 1.32% to 141,895.61 on equity turnover of HUF 24.7 billion. OTP gained 1.12% to HUF 40,700, MOL 2.64% to HUF 4,980, Richter 0.57% to HUF 12,300 and Magyar Telekom 2.30% to HUF 2,578. In Europe, the DAX rose 0.09% to 25,254.21, the STOXX Europe 600 0.36% to 633.62 and the FTSE 100 0.34% to 10,497.94, while the CAC 40 fell 0.80% to 7,834.10. The Schneider Electric–PTC transaction was announced as French shares weakened. Chief executive Olivier Blum said “the acquisition of PTC represents an important step” towards industrial intelligence; the original company release says closing remains subject to shareholder and regulatory conditions.

The S&P 500 gained 0.66% to 7,773.95, the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.05% to a record 27,477.31 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 0.18% to 51,267.90.
