Two OTP bond subscriptions close on 8–9 October

The subscription periods for two one-year fixed-rate domestic OTP bonds end on 8 and 9 October; the published annual coupons are 2% in euros and 5% in forints.

According to OTP Bank's issuance table, subscription for the OTP EURO 1 2027/3 bond closes on 8 October, while the OTP HUF 2027/10 bond closes on 9 October. Both have been open since 14 September, pay fixed interest and run for roughly one year. The euro bond, ISIN HU0000367081, carries a 2.000% annual coupon and matures on 8 October 2027. The forint bond, ISIN HU0000367099, carries a 5.000% annual coupon and matures on 9 October 2027.

The coupon gap is 3 percentage points, but it is not a direct return ranking because the currencies differ. For an investor measuring wealth in forints, the EUR/HUF exchange rate can materially alter the result. Before any decision, the final terms, issue price, fees, repayment provisions and marketability need to be checked. The investor also retains the issuer's credit risk.

Our report on the MNB market-series update provides domestic rate context, while the analysis of foreign-currency interest and forint returns explains the exchange-rate channel. The next concrete checkpoints are the euro subscription close on 8 October, the forint close on 9 October and publication of final issuance data.
