The Hungarian National Gallery’s creative workshop centred on black begins at 10:15am on 7 November. For Budapest audiences, this is a participatory cultural event with a fixed start: the museum’s description says that viewing artworks will be followed by making art with black ink.
The session runs until noon and is recommended for ages 16 and over. The official ticket page lists it under the Hungarian title Alkoss! – A fekete szín története. The museum quotes a full price of HUF 7,300 and a discounted price of HUF 4,400, including admission.
Our calculation puts the difference between the two prices at HUF 2,900. Two full-price tickets cost HUF 14,600 before adding travel expenses. Eligibility for a discount and available places need to be established when purchasing; an advertised price does not establish seat availability.
The workshop offers a different form of participation from the Szentendre curator-led tour or the photography exhibition at Mai Manó House. Alongside price, the choice therefore depends on whether visitors want guided interpretation, independent viewing or making their own art.
The next programme starts on Saturday at 10:15am. This report describes the published programme, rather than experience gained by attending the session.
