Curator’s tour explores 1920s Szentendre on November 6

Zsófia Júlia Szilágyi’s tour begins at 5 pm in the Szentendre Gallery. It accompanies an exhibition about the town’s past and the futures once imagined for it.

A curator’s tour of the exhibition Back to the Future will take place at the Szentendre Gallery at 5 pm on November 6. For audiences in Budapest and the surrounding area, this offers a specific Friday-afternoon cultural programme: the Ferenczy Museum Centre’s event page identifies literary historian and curator Zsófia Júlia Szilágyi as the guide.

The advertised full-price ticket costs HUF 3,200 and the concession ticket HUF 1,600. Visitors should clarify eligibility for a concession with the museum before purchasing; publishing two prices does not mean every visitor can freely choose between them.

The exhibition description presents Szentendre in the 1920s. Period photographs and ideas for the town’s development help evoke its transformation; the centenary of the Old Artists’ Colony, established in 1926, provides another connection. Alongside art history, the focus therefore extends to the history of the urban environment and local community.

Our article on the new photography exhibition at Mai Manó House offers a different photography-related programme for comparison. Broader questions about museum participation are discussed in our report on the accessibility conference.

Friday’s tour has a one-off time slot; the exhibition itself remains open until January 31, 2027. The museum’s event page has no publication date; we checked the information on November 6. Check for any change of time before travelling.
