Google began rolling out Omni 1.2 Flash in the Vids video-creation app on November 5, with generated clips lasting up to 15 seconds. Hungarian small businesses and education users should check access conditions alongside the feature itself.
The official Workspace announcement specifies a visibility window of 1–3 days. Better character consistency and more natural speech are the provider’s quality claims; we have not conducted our own comparative test.
According to the usage guide, a new clip generated from a text prompt can be set to last 3–15 seconds. In the European Economic Area, including Hungary, users cannot edit their own uploaded videos with the AI video-editing feature; they can use AI videos from their generation history. This restriction concerns that editing feature, rather than a general upload ban across the whole Vids application.
The eligibility table distinguishes account types and allowances. Access through a work or school account may also depend on organisational settings. A presentation assembled from shorter clips must therefore be planned around the capabilities available in the user’s own account.
We covered related workflows in our report on Gemini presentation editing; the EDPB’s earlier consultation adds data-governance background. The next practical step during the rollout is to check whether the feature has appeared and which allowance applies to the account.
