According to the Budapest Stock Exchange, the BUX ended 9 October at 141,671 points, 3.28% above the previous close of 137,165.79. OTP jumped 6.42% to HUF 40,300; MOL gained 1.10% to HUF 5,055, Richter rose 1.23% to HUF 12,350, and Magyar Telekom advanced 1.26% to HUF 2,562.
In Europe, Deutsche Börse reported a DAX close of 25,087.27, a daily gain of 1.13%. The Euro Stoxx 50 finished at 6,173.37, up 0.76%; the CAC 40 rose 0.95% to 7,803.33 and the FTSE 100 gained 1.06% to 10,552.05.
In the United States, the S&P 500 increased 0.59% to 7,811.54. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 27,366.17, up 0.64%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.83% to 51,654.95, according to the US closing summary.
For Hungarian investors, OTP's outsized move was the most direct factor, although one strong session did not remove the underlying risks.
