According to the Budapest Stock Exchange's official close, the BUX ended 8 October 2026 at 137,165.79 points, a daily fall of 2.93%. OTP closed at HUF 37,870, down 5.09%; MOL fell 0.70% to HUF 5,000, Richter lost 2.40% to HUF 12,200, and Magyar Telekom declined 0.39% to HUF 2,530.
In Europe, the DAX closed at 24,806.97 points, down 1.18%. The STOXX Europe 600 finished at 625.51, a fall of 0.75%; the CAC 40 slipped 0.51% to 7,729.69 and the FTSE 100 lost 0.16% to 10,441.60. Closing values from Deutsche Börse, STOXX and Euronext consistently showed the European retreat.
In the United States, the S&P 500 closed at 7,765.36 points, down 0.47%. The Nasdaq Composite fell 1.25% to 27,193.34, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.10% to 51,231.64.
