According to the OPEC statement of October 4, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Oman will retain their September required production levels for November. Their next meeting is set for November 1. The decision contains no new supply increase and therefore offers no immediate volume relief to Europe's fuel market.
For Hungary, the transmission runs through crude and refined-product procurement costs and then into wholesale and retail prices. Our latest report on European diesel supply found that physical supply is stable but prices remain high. Our earlier EU oil-import analysis showed that the import bill rose much faster than volumes.
The statement sets no Brent price and gives no new demand forecast. Hungarian fuel prices will also depend on refinery capacity, shipping routes, the dollar exchange rate and taxes. The next verifiable checkpoint is the November 1 meeting and the actual production data published before it.
