Karl Nehammer, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank Group, arrived in Ukraine on 20 October for a visit aimed at preparing border infrastructure and business financing, according to the EU Delegation to Ukraine. For Hungarian logistics companies, the direction of development in EU connections may matter, but the announced programme does not establish a particular Hungarian route or new capacity.
The 20–22 October programme aims to prepare new agreements for border-crossing infrastructure linking Ukraine with the European Union and Moldova. The announcement concerns planned signatures; we do not claim completed agreements, an opened crossing or a Hungarian order.
Through the European Investment Fund, the group also aims to strengthen Ukrainian banking cooperation, including with ProCredit Bank. This is an institutional objective, not a Hungarian grant call already open for applications. This is our processing and translation of the diplomatic service’s announcement.
The Solidarity Lanes export figure is a different, multi-year statistic; the World Bank financing aggregate concerns a different institutional scope. Assessing a border project’s business effects requires a precise site, technical scope, implementation timetable and procurement conditions. We do not fill those gaps by assumption from a general visit announcement. Signed documents, the actual project list and any procurement notices will allow further assessment.
