Apple told developers on October 2 that it will add controls around Full Disk Access in macOS. The permission can expose files, mail, messages and browsing history, so the company plans to require a “very explicit user action” before it is granted.
The announcement followed complaints involving Meta's Muse agent. Some users said the system reached messages they considered private; Meta said both Full Disk Access and the Messages connector must be enabled separately. Those claims address different issues: Apple is changing a system-level risk control, while Meta is defending its product's permission path.
For Hungarian users and companies, the change may affect permission management for automated assistants, backup tools and enterprise endpoint security. Our reports on Gemini 4 Argon's cybersecurity rollout and the FTC's AI inquiry show supervision tightening as agents become more capable. Hungarian technology managers should therefore inventory applications that currently use Full Disk Access. A practical review should also record why each permission is needed, who approved it and how it can be revoked. Apple has not given an implementation date; the next evidence will be detailed developer documentation and the release timetable.
