Szenna marks St Martin’s Day with a food market

A local producers’ market accompanies the open-air museum’s shepherds’ gathering on 7 November. Visitors should plan around the museum’s advertised 10am–5pm programme.

A food market is scheduled at the Szenna Open-Air Museum’s St Martin’s Day programme on 7 November. For Hungarian families and visitors planning a trip to Somogy, arrival time matters alongside the producers’ selection: the museum’s own programme advertises an event running from 10am to 5pm.

The Visit Zselic listing names honey, handmade chocolates, dried pasta and smoked meats. Its event card shows an earlier start, so we have used the organiser’s direct information for planning purposes.

The museum specifies a combined admission ticket. Advance registration is required for the wine tasting starting at 3:30pm, which should therefore be planned separately from shopping and the all-day activities. The programme we read provides no verifiable price list for food sold on site.

The Hajdúszoboszló festivities and Veszprém’s Bakony Expo offer weekend food programmes at different venues and under different admission conditions. Our planning suggestion is to budget separately for travel, admission and purchases; a single ticket price cannot support a comparison of the entire outing.

The next event is Saturday’s opening. The museum notes that weather may lead to programme changes, so checking its current announcement before departure is advisable.

Sources: the organiser and tourism pages linked above. Neither displays a publication date; we checked them on 7 November.
