The European Commission launched its first round connecting biomethane buyers and suppliers on 4 November. The official timetable allows buyers to submit requests until 23 December; participation is voluntary and free.
For Hungarian corporate purchasers, this offers a new way to find counterparties, requiring the desired product and delivery conditions to be specified beforehand. An expression of interest does not yet provide energy usable at a facility: fulfillment requires compatible contractual and technical terms.
Suppliers can express interest between 21 January and 4 March, with matching results planned for 18 March, all in the following year. Commercial negotiations take place outside the mechanism.
Our procurement suggestion is to request quotations for the same delivery point, period and origin-certification requirements. Transport and certification costs should be considered alongside the product price; comparing headline prices with different service content can mislead. This announcement establishes neither a particular Hungarian discount nor a concluded transaction.
The Cork energy technology conference examines deployment of developments, while the OPENTUNITY project examines grid operations. Here, the next task is to specify buyers' technical and commercial requirements before the application deadline.
Volume flexibility and proof of delivery are separate negotiating questions. A quotation becomes comparable for a buyer when it is clear which changes in conditions can alter the final cost.
