Budapest International Film Festival has scheduled Francisco Zambrano’s film-sales case study at Inga for 14:00–15:00 on 30 October. For Hungarian filmmakers and producers, the English-language professional session offers an opportunity to explore decisions involved in reaching international markets.
According to the festival’s official description, the mk2 Films specialist will discuss sales and distribution through La Gradiva. The event is still ahead, so we report no statements already made or outcomes from the session.
Participants could usefully ask which territorial rights are sold, for what duration and for which release channel. Festival participation, sales representation and distribution to audiences are separate steps. A single film’s example can therefore help explain a decision process; it cannot yield a forecast of a Hungarian film’s revenue.
Our report on EU seizures of counterfeit cultural media addresses another aspect of rights protection, while our Müpa family-programme article provides a domestic example of reaching audiences. The next specific date is Friday’s professional event; participation conditions should be checked on BIFF’s registration page.
The source page gives no publication date: the source field records access on 25 October. We claim no personal critical viewing experience of the film.
