The European Banking Authority released the final technical package for version 4.4 of its reporting and Pillar 3 disclosure framework on 12 October. The EBA announcement says the first phase supports IFRS 18 reporting, Pillar 3 ESG disclosures and other technical amendments.
This is not a new capital requirement; it is the technical implementation of reporting rules. It matters to Hungarian banks and investors because more consistent fields can improve comparisons across institutions, while migration may create IT and compliance costs. The EBA expects the technical implementation of its supervisory reporting simplification package in early 2027.
Read alongside our article on EU rules for securities depositories, the package shows that prudential and reporting systems are changing together. Our analysis of Hungarian inflation and real rates provides the domestic setting. The next checkpoints are institutions’ implementation timetables and the second phase in early 2027. The EBA is the regulatory source; actual bank-level costs will require separate institutional evidence.
